The former Toronto 2015 Pan American Games vice-president of brand activation Steve Wallace, has started his latest role in sports administration, becoming the new chief executive of Canada Artistic Swimming this month.

Wallace spent more than three years working for Toronto 2015 in the build-up to and during the Games eight years ago, before moving on to become the chief of marketing at the Invictus Games, also in Toronto, from November 2015 to January 2018.

He moved on to spend nearly two years as chief of commercial at Alpine Canada Alpin, leaving during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wallace then became chief executive of Canadian sports festival Play On! for its return in 2022, simultaneously holding this role for almost two years while also acting as a brand strategy and activation consultant for Envision Sports & Entertainment.

"I have loved working in sport, seeing the drive and passion of the high performance athletes, as well as the dedication and devotion of the volunteers, parents and clubs at the grassroots level," said Wallace in a statement.

"I'm looking forward to getting to know the artistic swimming community and enhancing what is already a strong and vibrant organisation."

Canada is the third-most successful nation at the Olympic Games in artistic swimming - behind Russia and the United States - with three golds, four silvers and one bronze, however the nation's last medal in the sport came in 1996.
