The International Esports Federation (IESF) is set to hand out scholarships for athletes competing in the World Esports Championships Finals in Bali.

The International Federation has partnered with ITTI High Tech Institute to award four full scholarships worth €8,000 ($8,321/£6881) each for competing athletes and five partial scholarships for esports enthusiasts to attend an online course.

Applications for the scholarship will be accepted until December 2, with the winners set to be announced during the World Esports Championships Finals in Bali.

"IESF is proud to partner with the ITTI High Tech Institute and the Barcelona Innovation Hub to award these scholarships and provide members of the World Esports Family with an opportunity to further advance their knowledge and passion for esports," IESF secretary general Boban Totovski said.

"IESF remains committed to promoting sustainable and responsible gaming worldwide through initiatives like this, and we look forward to awarding the scholarships in Bali."

The event is scheduled to be held form November 23 to December 2.

The online course will start on January 17 next year and concludes in June.

Participants will be able to attend a camp in Barcelona following the course and will also receive an invitation to the Sports Tomorrow Congress.

A record 106 nations are set to compete at the World Esports Championships Finals in Bali.
