Bulgarians continued to impress at their home Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Sofia, with Boryana Kaleyn winning the individual all-around competition as well as the country topping the group event.

Kaleyn finished the second and final day of the all-around competition top on 127.300 points, with Italy’s Sofia Raffaeli in second on 124.550 and fellow Bulgarian Stiliana Nikolova in third on 123.800.

This follows a day where Raffaeli qualified first in the individual clubs discipline and Nikolova posted the best score in the individual ribbon event.

Raffaeli, who won a silver and a bronze at the 2021 World Championships in Kitakyushu in Japan, scored 32.150 in the clubs which was only 0.100 better than Nikolova in second.

Olympic gymnast Kaleyn followed in third on 31.850.

Later, Kaleyn and Nikolova completed the one-two for the ribbon qualification after tallying 32.100 and 31.350.

Raffaeli finished the event in third for a score of 30.350.

In the group all-around, Bulgaria were also the best country after completing the three ribbons and two balls discipline.

The team scored 28.950, which comfortably beat Greece’s 24.700 and France’s 24.400.

Japan scored 24.000 and Germany 20.550.

Spain finished last on 20.350.

These results mean Bulgaria have a group all-around score of 53.150, with Greece now second on 52.650.

France’s score brings their total to 50.900 and Japan are fourth on 46.200.

The competition is set to conclude tomorrow with individual finals.
