The Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) has launched a new sport shoe drive to promote donations of varying types of shoes.

The charity campaign is designed to get people, who have old sport shoes at home, to donate them to CISNOC so that they can gift them to those who need it.

This will make sport shoes more accessible to more people.

"Whatever the sport shoes, whatever the size, whatever the stories or memories they might hold," a CISNOC Facebook post said.

"If they’re clean, smell nice and don’t have holes we’ll find a good home for the rest of the life they have in them."

The social media post was accompanied by a video where it shows a person standing on the side-lines of the basketball court, watching two people have a shoot around.

When asked if he wants to have a turn, he rejects as he does not have the correct footwear to play the sport.

The trio then travel to CISNOC headquarters to pick up a pair of sport shoes for him to wear, allowing him to play.
