International School Sport Federation (ISF) officials have met with local leaders to discuss this year's School Summer Games, now less than 100 days away.

ISF Sport Technical Commission officials conducted visits to each of the competition venues in Normandy, while high-level talks were held between the ISF, School Sport Federation of France (UNSS) and region and city politicians.

"ISF and UNSS have together delivered a very successful operational visit which has met the expectations of the ISF in terms of the preparational standards required for the most important multi-sport event of our organisation," ISF President Laurent Petrynka said.

"Thanks to the high-level support and cooperation with the State, the Normandy Region, the nine host cities, and the Organising Committee of UNSS we are certain that ISF members will leave this event having enjoyed a unique sporting, educational and cultural experience in France.

"We are all ready for the next steps of the event and are looking forward to welcoming school sport students from around the world to Normandy in May 2022."

Nine cities - Caen, Deauville, Écouves, Granville, Le Havre, Montivilliers, Pont-Audemer, Rouen, and Val-de-Reuil - are due to stage events.

All nine were subject to inspection visits.

The ISF Gymnasiade is set to be the largest in the organisation's history, with 16 sports and three Para sports on the programme.

Deauville is set to be the primary hub when School Summer Games take place between May 14 and 22.

Cultural and educational activities are set to accompany the sport, with a Fun and Skills Zone to be in operation from May 16 to 20.

An ISF School Sport Forum is additionally scheduled on May 18, where the role of education and sport in the development of youth will be debated.
