Marte Olsbu Røiseland made it back-to-back wins in the women's 10-kilometre pursuit this season on the final day of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup in the Austrian town Hochfilzen, giving the Norwegian the overall lead.

Røiseland crossed the line in 30min 4.1sec for the gold medal, having only had to take one penalty lap.

Hanna Sola of Belarus was just four seconds behind, but she will rue missing three targets, which stopped her from topping the podium.

Elvira Öberg, who was part of the winning Swedish relay team yesterday, took bronze 23sec adrift of the winner.

Dzinara Alimbekava of Belarus was fourth, followed by Elvira's older sister, Hanna Öberg in fifth.

In the men's 4x7.5km relay, Norway's Sturla Holm Lægreid, Tarjei Bø, Johannes Thingnes Bø and Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen claimed victory by 21sec in a time of 1 hour 14min 34.8sec.

They trailed in the first two legs to Germany's Erik Lesser and Sweden's Martin Ponsiluoma, but overhauled that to beat France to gold.

Fabien Claude, Simon Desthieux, Emilien Jacquelin and Quentin Fillon Maillet took the silver, another 26sec in front of the Russian team of Vasilii Tomshin, Daniil Serokhvostov, Alexander Loginov and Eduard Latypov.

The next leg of the IBU World Cup is scheduled to take place from Thursday (December 16) until Sunday (December 19).
