Switzerland, hosts Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic have all reached the quarter-finals of the Women's World Floorball Championship.

The four sides booked their spots in the last eight by finishing in the top two of Groups A and B.

Defending champions Sweden, who topped Group B, defeated Finland 9-3 today in Uppsala's IFU Arena to end the group stage undefeated.

Defeat for Finland does not stop them also reaching the quarter-finals.

The Czechs overcame Latvia 8-0 today and topped Group A, while Switzerland's 6-2 victory over Poland assured them a quarter-final berth.

Norway, Denmark, the United States and a National Floorball Federation of Russia (NFFR) team emerged from Groups C and D to reach the knockout stage, and will face the bottom sides from Groups A and B for quarter-final places.

Demark were the day's biggest winners, thrashing Italy 15-0.

The first knockout matches, in the playoff round, will be played tomorrow, ahead of quarter-finals on Thursday and Friday (December 2 and 3).

Latvia face Norway, Germany will play Denmark, Slovakia are up against the US and Poland await the NFFR.
