Sweden continued to have success at the International Bowling Federation (IBF) Super World Championships, this time in the men's trios competition, as the nation progressed to the semi-finals in Dubai.

The Swedish triplet breezed past Bahrain to set up a last-four tie with the Czech Republic.

The Czechs score of 236 was enough to see off Colombia despite having to settle for three spares in a row from the sixth to the eighth frames.

South Korea blitzed Qatar to book a semi-final spot against the United States, who beat Malaysia 235-226 in dramatic fashion with a strike on their penultimate bowl.

The US women were unable to replicate their male counterparts' success after falling to defeat against Guatemala.

It was a similar story for Sweden as they were victims of a South Korean masterclass in the women's tournament.

Colombia annihilated Norway in a comprehensive performance.

The Colombian trio overcame a disappointing sixth frame, scoring nine points, to end the fixture with five consecutive strikes.

They will face Singapore in the semi-finals following their 238-187 win over Malaysia.

The semi-finals and finals of the men's and women's trios are set to take place on Sunday (November 14).

Action continues in the United Arab Emirates tomorrow, with singles champions set to be crowned.
