Czech Republic clinched their seventh men's Inline Hockey World Championship title with a comfortable victory over Canada in the final in Roccaraso.

The Czech side thrashed Canada 7-0 in a one-sided gold medal match at Pala Bolino to maintain their recent dominance of the tournament.

Spain secured the bronze medal after beating Italy 6-2 in the third-place playoff.

Czech Republic have now won four of the last six world titles and two of the previous three.

The European outfit have some way to go if they are to become the most decorated team in the history of the event as the United States hold the record with 16 gold medals.

The Czech team went unbeaten throughout the competition in the Italian town, claiming seven straight victories on their way to lifting the trophy.

They overcame hosts Italy 6-2 in the semi-finals following a 5-0 defeat of Slovakia in the last eight.

Canada, who had been chasing their first men's Inline Hockey World Championship triumph since 2002, had reached the final by edging out Spain 1-0.
