Defending champion Kiran Badloe of The Netherlands sits top of the men's leaderboard at the RS:X World Championships in Cadiz, Spain.

Badloe has 15 points after winning the opening race of the Championships before recording results of third and 11th.

Israel's Tom Reuveny finished fourth twice and seventh in the other race to end the day on the same total as the Dutch windsurfer.

Vyron Kokkalanis of Greece and Poland's Piotr Myszka are a point behind in third and fourth respectively.

European champion Yoav Cohen of Israel has work to do if he is to challenge for the world title as he is ninth on 36 points.

Badloe's team mate Lilian de Geus has the early lead in the women's event after winning the third race.

De Geus occupies top spot on 10 points, one clear of France's European champion Charline Picon.

The Dutch athlete was second in the first race and seventh in the second before a bullet in the last propelled her to the summit of the standings.

Poland's Zofia Noceti-Klepacka is third on 12 points.

Action at the event, among the last major sailing competitions prior to the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, is scheduled to continue tomorrow.
