World number three Gerwyn Price triumphed in the deciding set of an all Welsh clash with Jamie Lewis on day seven of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Championship at Alexandra Palace.

Price, who has won three PDC tournaments this year started slowly against his compatriot and dropped the first set.

However, Price's form improved and he took a 2-1 lead before qualifier Lewis battled back to force a deciding set.

After Lewis missed the chance to take the lead in set five, Price claimed three straight legs to advance to the third round courtesy of a 3-2 win.

Belgium's Kim Huybrechts was also a winner on day seven as he beat England's Ian White in four sets.

A high-quality match saw both players average in three figures, with Huybrechts taking a two set lead.

White battled back to take set three but Huybrechts triumphed in a deciding leg in set four thanks to throwing a 13-darter, which helped him to a 3-1 victory.

Two compatriots also faced off in the final match of the day as Gabriel Clemens beat Nico Kurz in four sets in an all German match-up.

The contest featured six three-figure checkouts with Clemens claiming the first on his way to set one.

Kurz claimed three successive three-figure checkouts to take set two before former German Darts Masters finalist Clemens took the next two sets to claim a 3-1 win.

The day's other match saw Poland's Krzysztof Ratajski sweep past England's Ryan Joyce in straight sets.

The first two sets went to five legs, with Ratajski claiming the second with an 11-darter.

The Polish player then took the third set to seal a 3-0 win.

Only one session took place today, but tomorrow sees eight more second round matches played across two sessions.

Second round matches on day eight are scheduled to include 2018 world champion Rob Cross of England against The Netherlands Dirk van Duijvenbode and Belgium's Dimitri Van Den Bergh up against 66-year-old Singaporean Paul Lim, whose final set upset of England's Luke Humphries was one of the stories of the tournament's first round.
