Four South Korean footballers who tested positive for coronavirus while in Austria for two friendlies are set to be flown back home on a chartered flight.

Forwards Lee Dong-jun and Na Sang-ho, midfielder Kim Moon-hwan and goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo returned positive results ahead of South Korea's matches with Mexico and Qatar earlier this month.

Three unnamed members of staff also tested positive and had to quarantine along with the infected players.

The Korea Football Association (KFA) confirmed the group would now be flown back on Thursday (November 26), according to a report by Yonhap.

Eight other members of staff - who tested negative - are expected to be on board the flight after staying in Austria to look after them.

According to the KFA, five of the eight infected individuals have mild symptoms that can be controlled with medication.

The KFA also revealed midfielder Hwang In-beom became infected with coronavirus and may fly to Russia where he plays for FC Rubin Kazan.

The 24-year-old is due to undergo a COVID-19 test today.

The other players and staff left Austria after the two friendlies.

South Korea lost 3-2 to Mexico in Wiener Neustadt on November 14 before beating Qatar 2-1 in Vienna on November 17.
