The French Ski Federation (FFS) has announced the MGEN group as an official partner of the country’s Nordic ski teams after agreeing a four-year partnership.

The health insurance provider has been associated with five-time Olympic biathlon champion Martin Fourcade for the past six years and the French biathlon team since 2018.

It will now strengthen its presence within the federation by partnering French Nordic ski teams until April 2024.

As part of the deal, the MGEN logo is set to be displayed on the outfits of athletes and members of French biathlon, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined and ski jumping teams in addition to the rifles of the biathletes and the binoculars of the shooting coaches.

FFS also confirmed MGEN had named Perrine Laffont, a gold medallist in the moguls event at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and cross-country skier Lucas Chanavat as brand ambassadors.

FFS President Michel Vion said: "The excellent results of the French Nordic ski teams in the World Cup, then in the last World Championships and in particular in cross-country skiing and biathlon, once again confirms all the attractiveness of the French Ski Federation and its teams.

"In addition, the FFS and MGEN come together around a common commitment for the promotion and democratisation of physical activity and its health benefits."

Roland Berthilier, President of the MGEN group, added: "We have always shared its values and we are committed daily to the recognition of its virtues, social and health.

"In the continuity of our historic partnership with Martin Fourcade, then the French biathlon, Perrine Laffont or even Lucas Chanavat, we naturally turned to the FFS to further promote the universal values of sport and Olympism."
