Portugal remained unbeaten after day two of the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal after beating Germany 4-1, while Switzerland thrashed France 10-2 in the day's other match.

Portugal's 4-1 win was secured by goals from Be Martins in the first period and Bruno Torres, Belchior, and André Lourenço in the second.

The match was marred halfway through the third period by German player Joscha Metzler suffering a nasty head injury after Portuguese player Leo Martins went for the overhead kick, only to connect with his opponent's skull.

In the day's early match, Switzerland laid down a challenge to reigning champions Portugal by beating France 10-2.

It was a second heavy defeat in as many days for the French, who lost 7-0 to Portugal yesterday.

The Swiss took a 4-1 lead in Nazare after the first period with both sides scoring another by the end of the second period.

But from then on, Switzerland scored five unanswered goals to further rock the French side, while finishing their first day with a goal difference of eight.

After day two, Portugal top the table with six points with the Swiss in second place on three points having played one game less.
