Some 40 players from 20 countries are set to contest the first edition of the FIFA eNations Cup in London.

The two-day competition follows a series of national events, which determined the top two representatives from each nation.

Other leading players were selected by their member associations, FIFA state.

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China PR, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico and the Netherlands are among the countries represented.

They will be joined by teams from New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Russia and the United States.

As part of the format of the first FIFA eNations Cup, participating countries and players will compete in individual matches on Xbox and PlayStation during the group stage.

The third match will consist of a two-versus-two contest on a console decided by both teams before the tie, based on their individual preference.

Each match-up between two nations in the group stage is counted towards the overall group table.

The two-versus-two format will only come in to play in the knockout rounds if points after the PlayStation and Xbox knockouts are tied.

The top two nations in each of the four groups progress to the knockout stages.

Hosts England have been drawn against Finland, South Africa, France and Saudi Arabia in Group A.

Spain, United States, New Zealand, Mexico and China contest Group B, with Germany, Norway, Sweden, Argentina and Brazil locking horns in Group C.

Group D pits Portugal, Russia, Australia, Denmark and the Netherlands against each other.

A prize pool of $100,000 (£75,000/€88,000) is at stake for the teams.

As one of the major events in the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series, the FIFA eNations Cup is a new addition to this season’s professional eFootball calendar.

Players will have the chance to win up to 1,500 EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series points, providing them with the chance to climb the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings and take a significant step towards the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019.

The FIFA eWorld Cup features 32 players, who battle it out to become world champion.

The tournament is due to take place at the beginning of August.
