New Zealand's Shannon McIlroy continued his unbeaten run as he recorded another three victories to strengthen his position at the top of the section one standings at the World Bowls Singles Champion of Champions event in Australia.

World champion McIlroy began the day with a 9-4, 12-6 win over Namibia's Will Esterhuizen at the St Johns Park Bowling Club in New South Wales.

He then overcame Israel's Noam Yehudai 9-9, 14-10 before beating Thailand's Wattana Kadkhunthod 9-7, 8-8.

The results, which preserved the New Zealander's 100 per cent record, saw him move to a total of 27 points at the top of the rankings.

Lee Schraner is the new leader in section two as the Australian also won all three of his matches on the third day of the tournament.

Schraner overtook Welshman Roger Jones, who suffered his first defeat of the competition today when he lost 13-3, 6-10, 3-0 to Botswana's Joseph Nthobelang.
