World number four Antonio Diaz of Venezuela beat top ranked Spaniard Damián Hugo Quintero Capdevila to reach the men's kata final at the World Karate Federation Karate1 Premier League leg in Rotterdam today.

Diaz produced a day of superb displays to secure his spot in tomorrow's final at the Topsportcentrum Rotterdam.

He will face world number three Issei Shimbaba of Japan at the final stage after he overcame Mehmet Yakan of Turkey and then Ilja Smorguner of Germany.

A good day for Japan continued when Ayumi Uekusa reached the final of the women's over-68 kilograms heavyweight division.

She overcame Maltem Hocaoglu in the semi-finals.

Hamideh Abbasali of Iran beat Anne Laure Florentin of France in the other semi-final.

Another of the best performances of day two came from home hope Moreno Sheppard in the over-84kg men's heavyweight division.

He beat Ridvan Kaptan of Turkey in the semi-finals.

Jonathan Horne of Germany beat Mehdi Filali of France in the other last four clash.

All finals are scheduled for tomorrow.
