Japanese sensation Kiyou Shimizu will aim to continue her domination of the women's kata discipline when the World Karate Federation Karate1 Premier League season resumes with the latest stop on the circuit in Rotterdam this weekend.

Shimizu has won gold medals at the Karate1 Premier League event in Paris and Series A competitions in Guadalajara and Salzburg so far this campaign.

The Japanese karateka, who also claimed bronze at the Premier League competition in Dubai last month, is among a strong list of entrants for the event in the Dutch city.

Action is due to get underway at the Topsportcentrum Rotterdam tomorrow and conclude on Sunday (March 18).

China's Xiaoyan Yin of China, who competes in the women's under 61 kilograms kumite division, will be hoping to claim her third consecutive Karate1 Premier League gold medal following her triumphs in Paris and Dubai.

Under 68kg competitor Alizee Agier of France will also be targeting the same feat.

Five-time world champion Rafael Aghayev, who was second in Paris but returned to the top of the podium in Dubai, leads the men's entrants as he bids for further success at under 75kg.

Japan's Ryo Kiyuna will also go for a second gold medal of the Premier League season in the men's kata discipline.
