The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) hosted an athletes' career programme workshop.

The event, for attendees between 15 and 30, was designed to help athletes manage the transition from a professional sports career to another profession once their time competing has finished.

It was held at Saltus Grammar School and staged on behalf of the International Olympic Committee's Athletes' Commission.

Adecco, a human resources solutions provider, were also involved.

Modules were held on areas including CV development, networking, time management and interviewing skills.

Judy Simons, BOA President, said: "We are pleased to be working with the Athletes' Commission outreach programme to bring this valuable seminar to Bermuda's athletes.

"We have many young athletes who commit much time and energy to training and competition in their sport, and are often not thinking proactively about future career opportunities.

"This workshop will help them identify and evaluate those opportunities and learn how to leverage their sports skills to seize them.

"It's just one of the many ways the BOA is working to assist our island's young people on their journeys to success through sport."
