Japan and Singapore shared the spoils after a 4-4 draw at the Asia-Oceania Qualifying Tournament for the Men's Floorball World Championships.

Both countries had won their opening matches in Group B as the event continued in Jeju Island in South Korea.

They could not be separated today at the Hanrim Sports Complex, however, as Japan squandered a 3-1 advantage.

Two matches were played in Group A with Thailand beginning their tournament with a thumping 37-1 victory over China.

The first Thai goal arrived after just 48 seconds and it was then one-way traffic.

Hosts South Korea suffered disappointment as they slipped to a 9-2 loss against Australia.

It meant the home side could not back-up their opening 14-0 win against the Chinese.

Group stage action is due to continue tomorrow.

Both group winners will advance automatically to the final and will also book a place at this year's World Championships in Czech capital Prague.

The second place team in each group will face a semi-final tie against the third place finisher from the other group.

The winner of the semi-final matches will advance to a third-place play-off, with both nations also sealing the final two qualification spots available for Prague.
