Sweden and Russia will once again be vying for the title of the Federation of International Bandy Women’s Bandy World Championship in Chengde.

They have contested the final in each of the eight editions of the competition to date, with Sweden winning on seven occasions.

However, tomorrow's contest is far from clear-cut as Russia have already managed to beat Sweden 3-1 in this tournament, which will surely give them confidence going into match.

Current champions Sweden booked their place in the showpiece event by beating Scandinavian rivals Norway 5-0 in their semi-final.

2014 champions Russia beat neighbours Finland, who came through a playoff against the United States earlier in the day, 4-0 in their last-four clash.

The two defeated semi-finalists will now compete for the bronze medal before the gold medal final tomorrow.

Earlier in the day, China could not keep up their two-match winning streak as they lost 5-0 to the US in a match for fifth place.

Estonia beat Switzerland, who had scored just one goal in the entire tournament prior to today’s match, 7-2 in the match for eighth place to avoid finishing last in the competition.

The bronze medal match between Norway and Finland will kick-start the final day of proceedings tomorrow at 10am before the main final at 2pm.
