World ParaVolley has appointed Britain's Jonathan Moore as its technical delegate for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Moore was selected after a "multi-stage" process which ran from late September until mid-November.

He has worked for Volleyball England since 2009, where he is currently competitions and events coordinator.

In addition, he was a member of the team which helped deliver the volleyball and sitting volleyball competitions at London 2012.

The technical delegate role has usually fallen to World ParaVolley's sport director at previous Paralympics but for Tokyo they have opted to employ someone whose focus can be solely on the Games themselves.

"I feel privileged and honoured to take on this important role and responsibility for World ParaVolley and look forward to the challenge and opportunity to assist Tokyo 2020 in delivering an outstanding sitting volleyball competition for the athletes, officials and spectators," said Moore.

World ParaVolley President Barry Couzner added: "Jonathan was chosen for this position from an impressive list of candidates and we look forward to working with him to deliver an outstanding sitting volleyball competition for the athletes in 2020."
