The Lithuanian Olympic Committee (LTOK) organised an Olympism training course which attracted attendees from nine European countries.

Representatives from Germany, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal and Romania joined the host nation for the week long event.

It was co-funded by Erasmus + and the LTOK and offered participants the chance to learn new methodologies about group working and the values and principles of Olympism.

The Olympic Values Education Programme 2.0 was also presented to the group.

Those taking part visited the Adolfas Ramanauskas gymnasium in Altyus where they put into practice what they had learnt.

They put on a series of activities for youngsters, including sports exercises, workshops and discussions on fair play, respect, excellence and other values.

The International Olympic Committee describes Olympism as a "philosophy of life".

Its goal is "to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practiced without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play".

LTOK has also held the organisation's first film festival.

Organised in cooperation with the University of Vilnius, eight films from nine countries were screened in the country’s major cities.

More than 1,000 people attended the screenings and had the chance to meet with directors and the athletes involved.
