Members of bidding teams for the 2022 Ski Flying World Championships, the 2023 Nordic Ski World Championships and Alpine World Ski Championships the same year travelled to Costa Navarino to attend the visit, along with officials from the FIS.

The Greek resort is due to host the 2018 FIS Congress, scheduled to run from May 14 to 16, where the hosts of each event will be decided.

The visit to Costa Navarino included a tour of the facilities to finalise the set-up of the World Championship Candidate Exhibition, located close to the Congress centre.

They will each be able to present their case to the FIS Council on May 15 before the hosts of the three events are announced on May 17.

Vikersund in Norway and Planica in Slovenia are the two bidders for the 2022 Ski Flying World Championships.

Planica has also entered the race for the Nordic skiing event the following year, where they will be up against another Norwegian city in Trondheim.

Courchevel-Méribel in France and Saalbach in Austria are vying for the 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships.

"The participants at the 51st FIS Congress in Greece can look forward to a very well organised event by the professional Costa Navarino team, with excellent conditions for the numerous meetings in a lovely area," FIS secretary general Sarah Lewis said.

"The candidates have completely embraced all procedures in place to both promote the FIS World Championships and ensure fair play."
