France’s Myriam Nicole secured back-to-back titles today at the International Cycling Union Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

The 27-year-old crossed the line first in a time of 3min 26.890sec.

It was the second title in as many weeks for Nicole following her victory in Vallnord, Andorra last week.

Great Britain’s Rachel Atherton continued her comeback with a second place finish in 3:27.402.

The 29-year-old has been recovering from the shoulder injury she sustained in Fort William last month, which ended a two-year unbeaten streak.

Much to the delight of her home crowd, Switzerland's Emilie Siegenthaler took the bronze in 3:29.277.

Victory today increased Nicole's lead in the overall World Cup standings.

The Frenchwoman now has 980 points with Tracey Hannah of Australia second on 900.

Tahnee Seagrave of Britain is in third on 819.

Australia's Troy Brosnan collected the silver medal in 2:57.204.

Great Britain's Danny Hart rounded out the podium as he finished over a second behind Minnaar in 2:58.868.

Following his victory today, Minnaar has extended his lead at the top of the World Cup rankings.

He leads on 902 points with Brosnan in second on 742 and Aaron Gwin of the United States in third on 649.

Cross-country action is also due to take place this weekend, with the men’s and women’s race scheduled for Sunday (July 9).
