International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) President Sabatino Aracu has proposed a new nine-strong team for his forthcoming four-year term.

With no other candidates challenging the Italian for the highest office in the FIRS, he is set to officially begin a new spell at the world governing body's Elective Congress in Chinese city Nanjing on March 11.

Aracu has put forward a team that he is confident will be ready to deal with a challenging four years for the FIRS, during which skateboarding will feature at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and another roller sport could be introduced at the 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires.

Each of the nine members will chair a FIRS Technical Committee, with Germany’s Siegfried Zistler put forward for Alpine and downhill, Italy's Nicola Genchi for artistic, Singapore's Eddie Chua for inline freestyle, France's Alberto Lastrucci for inline hockey and Spain's Carmelo Paniagua Manso for rink hockey.

The United States' Fernando Regueiro has been proposed for roller derby, while Malaysia's Idroose Tambarin, France's Olivier Pascal and Colombia's Jorge Ivan Roldan Perez have been put forward for roller freestyle, skateboarding and speed respectively.

The Elective Congress is due to take place at the Hilton Nanjing Riverside, where delegates from more than 100 national federations will have the opportunity to visit the FIRS World Roller Museum - inaugurated in September of last year - and the venues for the inaugural World Roller Games in September.

There is a two-horse race for the FIRS vice-presidency with Argentina's Ricardo Grin going up against South American rival Moacyr Neuenschwander Junior of Brazil.

Grin is currently the director of the National Centre of High Performance Athletics (CeNard) and vice-president of the Confederación Argentina de Patín (CAP).

President of the Brazilian Confederation of Roller Sports since 2005, Neuenschwander Junior has also been a member of the FIRS Technical Committee for rink hockey.
