Saas Fee is set to host the fourth stage of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) Ice Climbing World Cup.

Competition will begin tomorrow, with speed events running through to the finals.

Both the men's and women's World Cup standings in the discipline are led by Russia athletes.

Vladimir Kartashev has 160 points in the men's rankings after finishing second in the first two events, with his compatriot Pavel Batushev  just nine behind.

In the women's event, Maria Tolokonina has just a five point advantage over Ekaterina Koschcheeva, with the Russian leading her team-mate on a total of 145 points.

Lead competitions will then come to the fore on Saturday (January 21), the final day of the World Cup.

South Korea's Hee Yong Park will hope to extend his overall World Cup lead of 227 points, while Russia's Nikolai Kuzovlev will look to close a 16 point gap.

Yannick Glatthard lies third on 182 points and will aim to impress in front of a home crowd.

South Korea's Han Na Rai Song and Shin Woonseon top the women's standings on 212 and 200 points, respectively.
