Anton Sudesh Peiris Kurukulasooriyage sceured Sri Lanka a second silver medal and Gareth Irfon Evans of Wales finished with the bronze.

India enjoyed a very successful week in Penang as they claimed seven medals overall which included four golds.

The first of which was won by Gururaja in the men's 56kg competition.

Azroy Muhammad of Malaysia earned the silver medal ahead of Fijian Manueli Tulo, who finished in bronze medal position.

Ajay Singh secured the second Indian gold medal of the competition in the men's 77kg category.

Singh edged Malaysian duo Wellkinson Loro and Fazrul Mohamad who finished in second and third respectively.

There was also success for Kojum Taba at the expense of New Zealand's Richard Patterson and Australia’s Francois Etoundi in the men’s 85kg class.

In the remainder of the men's categories, Ghana's Forrester Christopher Osei came out on top in the men’s 94kg category.

England's Owen Boxall and Damon Kelly of Australia, meanwhile, won the men’s 105kg and over 105kg crowns respectively.

Joti Mal also struck gold for India, taking the women’s 53kg title with Mauritius' Marie Ranaivosoa the runner-up and New Zealand’s Phillipa Patterson in third.

Elsewhere in the competition, Papua New Guinea's Thelma Toua came out on top in the women’s 48kg category.

Australian Erika Yamasaki and South Africa's Mona Pretorius were victorious in the women’s 58kg and 63kg events respectively.

Rebekah Tiler of England, who competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where she finished fourth, took gold in the 69kg category.

Apolonia Vaivai of Fiji was imperious in the 75kg tournament while Samoa's Iuniarra Sipaia, meanwhile, won the over 75kg event bringing the action to a close.
