A four-strong Nepalese Para-taekwondo team travelled to India to compete in an international tournament and attend a global seminar.
The team, including two players, left for Ahmedabad to take part in the Para-taekwondo Championship and International Seminar.
Nawaraj Karki competed in the men’s 44kg weight category event, while Som Bahadur Sunuwar entered the 42kg weight category.
Coach Lokendra Acharya and vice-president of the Nepal Para-taekwondo Association Bhimsen KC accompanied the players on their trip.
In recent weeks, Nepal taekwondo player Sita Bhandari was crowned as the Para-athlete of the Year at the Pulsar Sports Awards ceremony at the Nepal Academy Hall.
The honour was granted to Bhandari by the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, following her achievements in the past 12 months.
Bhandari, who lost her left hand at the age of six after receiving burn injuries, was one of only two athletes from Nepal to win a medal at the 2015 International Wheelchair & Amputee Sports (IWAS) World Games in Sochi.
She secured a bronze medal, a performance she matched at this year's Asian Para Taekwondo Championship in Manila.
