Russa's Margarita Mamun secured double gold on the second day of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Kazan today.

The 20-year-old had claimed an impressive win in the individual all-around competition yesterday, holding off the challenge of her compatriot Yana Kudryavtseva, an 11-time World Championships gold medallist.

Mamun returned to the top of the podium, achieving a score of 19.150 points in the clubs competition.

Fellow Russian Aleksandra Soldatova finished second with 18.950 points.

The podium places were completed by Belarus’ Melita Stanyuta, who scored 18.800 points.

A strong performance in the ribbons event saw Mamun claim another gold medal with a score of 19.200 points.

Stanyuta secured the silver medal with 18.550 points.

South Korea's Son Yeon-jae clinched bronze, finishing with 18.500 points.

Kudryavtseva returned to her dominant best in the hoop and ball disciplines, delivering two stunning displays.

She received a tally of 19.200 points to easily triumph in the hoop final ahead of Son and Mamun, who scored 18.600 and 18.500 respectively.

The 18-year-old then topped the podium in the ball competition by a much narrower margin, scoring 19.300 points to Mamun’s 19.150.

Stanyuta received her second bronze medal of the day after she was awarded a score of 18.750 points by the judges.

The home team will expect to claim gold in the group competition, after they topped qualifying for tomorrow’s final by achieving an overall tally of 37.600 points.

It followed a score of 18.800 points in ribbons event, as well as the hoop and clubs discipline.

Belarus and Israel were the next highest qualifiers, ending on 32.650 and 36.150 points respectively.
