United States achieved a clean sweep of titles at the World Ultimate and Guts Championships after dominating finals day at the Allianz Park in London.

Competition had moved to the home of Saracens Rugby Club from the UCL Sports Ground for the finale of the week-long Championships, with the world’s top players looking to end the event on a high.

After reaching the men’s final with an unbeaten record, the defending champions delivered an impressive display against a strong Japanese team to successfully defend the men’s title.

While Jimmy Mickle achieved four assists in the match, Joel Schlachet proved to be the star of the final by scoring six goals to help the Americans record a 15-11 win to top the podium.

Australia earned the bronze medal by defeating Canada 15-10 in another highly competitive tie.

United States were also left celebrating in the women’s competition after a comprehensive 15-7 victory over Colombia in the gold medal contest.

Colombia had eliminated defending champions Japan in the semi-finals, but were unable to replicate that performance in the gold medal contest as the United States finished as 15-7 winners.

An American hat-trick was sealed in the mixed team competition, with Jack Hatchett, Khalif El-Salaam and Ness Fajardo all scoring twice in a 15-6 win over Australia.

France were able to provide Canada with a strong challenge in the first half of their bronze medal tie as they only trailed by two points at half-time, with the score at 8-6.

The North Americans pulled away in the second half, however, to eventually emerge as 15-7 winners.
