United States enjoyed a superb day in which they qualified for three final ©USA Ultimate

United States moved one win away from a successful defence of their men's World Ultimate and Guts Championships crown with a 15-8 victory over Canada at the UCL Sports Ground in London.

The US were locked at 4-4 against their North American opponents before their dominance gradually began to tell.

They moved 8-4 ahead by half-time before ruthlessly pressing ahead their advantage to open up a seven points margin by the close.

Japan will be their final opponents after securing a 15-9 victory over Australia.

The final is due to take-place tomorrow, with the encounter following the bronze medal clash between Australia and Canada.

The US will be hoping for a golden treble after a 15-10 triumph over Canada in the women's semi-finals.

They will face Colombia in tomorrow's final, after the South American team battled to a 10-7 win over Japan.

In the mixed final, the US will face Australia.

This followed a 15-4 semi-final win over France, while Australia overcame Canada, 15-12.
