Thirty-seven of the continent's 45 National Olympic Committees have so far entered athletes for this year's Asian Beach Games in Danang, with others urged to follow suit.

In total, 3,000 athletes and 1,500 officials have been entered for the multisport event, set to take place from September 24 to October 3.

This comes as preparations continue ahead of a Chefs de Mission Seminar due to take place ahead of the Games on June 1.

All documents relating to technical matters have been prepared by the Sport and Technical Sub-Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced following a meeting with Vuong Bich Thang, general director of the Vietnam Sports Administration.

IT, media and communications preparations have also been completed, with the Organising Committee urged to closer coordinate with Danang city and the relevant Government Ministries over security, protocol and accommodation matters.

The agenda for the seminar will also include the sports programme, accreditation, ceremonies, competition venues and transportation.

Organisers claim are venues will be fully completed one month before the Opening Ceremony.

Fourteen sports are due to be contested, consisting of 22 disciplines and 172 events across four venues.

These include aquatics sports - marathon swimming and beach water polo - beach kabaddi, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach handball, basketball 3x3, beach sepaktakraw, beach shuttlecock, beach petanque, beach bodybuilding, beach woodball, coastal rowing, beach athletics and beach martial arts.

Wrestling, sambo, ju-jitsu, kurash, pencak silat, vovinam and muay thai will all be held under the martial arts umbrella.

It will mark the fifth edition of the continental event, following previous ones in Bali, Muscat, Haiyan and Phuket.

Forty-two NOCs participated in the Thai resort city last time around, with only North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Palestine absent.

It is not yet clear which eight are still to enter this time around.
