British rising star Elissa Downie claimed double gold today in the vault and uneven bars as apparatus finals began at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) World Challenge Cup at the Gradski vrt Hall in Osijek.

Downie, the younger sister of Beijing 2008 Olympian Becky, won four medals at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing before becoming the first British female gymnast ever to win an individual all-around medal at the European Championships, taking bronze last year in Montpellier.

She continued that form into the Olympic year by vaulting a superb 14.850 points in the Croatian city today.

Slovenia's Tjasa Kysselef claimed the silver medal with 14.200 while Rose Woo of Canada secured the final place on the podium with bronze after tallying 13.638.
