jodie_stimpson_13-06-11June 14 - With less than three weeks to go until the GE Canary Wharf Triathlon, London 2012 hopeful Jodie Stimpson paid a visit to the course to confirm her entry in to the iconic race as she looks to defend her overall 2009 and 2010 British Triathlon Super Series crown.

The Birmingham-based triathlete, fresh from a strong performance at the Dextro Energy ITU World Championships in Madrid, was eager to check out the new course, which will see the athletes battling it out right in the heart of bustling Canary Wharf.

While looking out over the transition area by Reuters Plaza, Stimpson said: "I have just come back from a World Championship Series race in Madrid, then head out to Austria ahead of the European Championships in Spain and after it will be straight to Canary Wharf, so it all falls into perfect timing to have a hard and fast race.

"The event is so central, right in the heart of the city, which means it is going to be absolutely packed.

"The transition phase is set to be right by the train station - people will be coming off the tube and thinking 'what are all these people running around here?'

"Hopefully they will stop around for a bit to take it all in.''

The GE Canary Wharf Triathlon takes place on Thursday June 30 between 6pm-10pm.

Many of the world's top elite triathletes will be battling it out in what promises to be a fast and furious triathlon frenzy.
