February 18 - Human Race, one of the UK’s leading multi-sport event specialists, have today announced the start of a new partnership with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust (DKH).

The Trust, set-up by double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes in 2009, is set to become the official charity partner for three showcase events run by Human Race this year.

The partnership begins with The Lucozade Sport Race Your Pace Half Marathon on March 28 at Dorney Lake in Eton, the Olympic rowing venue for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

The partnership then extends to the Eton Half Distance Triathlon and the ultra-FIT Triathlon Challenge on the May 22 and 23 respectively.

Dame Kelly, the chair of the DKH Legacy Trust, said: "I am delighted that my charity has been selected as the official charity partner for these events.

"We are really chuffed that we have been chosen to work with an event partner as well respected and dynamic as Human Race.

"We make a difference to young people through the support of world-class athletes as role models and mentors on projects like the BT Backing Talent Programme which helps the up and coming stars of the future learn what it takes to be the best.

"The opportunity as a new young charity to increase awareness of our work and also raise funds to help us reach more young people is invaluable."

John Lunt, the managing director of Human Race and the triathlon event manager for the London 2012 Olympics, said: "We are really excited about working with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.

"Inspiring young people through sport is one of the key aims at both Human Race and the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.

"We are very proud to support such a worthwhile charity."

The DKH Legacy Trust inspires young people to find and fulfil their potential in sport or in life through a workforce of elite sports performers.

The Trust supports young people to participate, stay in and excel in sport and helps disadvantaged young people to find and believe in their own talents.
