The national governing body said it will send artistic gymnasts Hairi Zaid Ahmad Saruji and Mohd Hamzarudin Nordin to China, rhythmic gymnasts Amy Kwang, Wong Poh San and Fatin Zakirah Jalany Zain Jalany to the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, and artistic gymnasts Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, Natasha Ilani Raymund Jayadev, Tan Ing Yueh, Nur Eli Ellina Azmi and Tracie Ang to Manchester in England.

MGF President A Razak Mat Amin said the organisation hopes the training will boost the nation's chances of success at the two international tournaments.

"Apart from gaining valuable exposure, the gymnasts will be able to learn new techniques when training abroad," he told Malaysian news agency Bernama.

"I am confident that such programmes can benefit national gymnasts."

Razak added he is confident that the athletes will do better than the one gold medal, won in the hoop competition by Elaine Koon, they brought home from Delhi 2010.

Koon also won silver in the ball event, and bronzes in ribbon, rope and the individual all around at those last Commonwealth Games.
