November 20 - The Greensboro Aquatic Centre (GAC) has been named as the host of next year's United States National Synchronised Swimming Championships. Expected to include more than 200 swimmers from 30 teams across the US, the Championships will run from April 9 to April 13.
Built at a cost of nearly $19 million (£12 million/€15 million), the state-of-the-art, multi-purpose, three-pool facility debuted in September 2011 and hosted the US Synchronised Swimming 2012 Olympic team trials last November.
Members of the London 2012 US Olympic synchronised swimming qualification team "We're really looking forward to returning to Greensboro," said Terry Harper, executive director of USA Synchro.
"The city and the facility engaged the entire community for our Olympic Trials last year.
"They do an outstanding job."
