World champions Amy Marren and Steph Slater are also included in a strong line-up announced following the conclusion of the British Para-Swimming International Meet at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow yesterday.

The meeting acted as a qualifying event for the Championships which run from August 4 to 10 at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Stadium.

Four-time Paralympic champion Simmonds qualified for three events in Eindhoven, where she claimed five world titles in 2010 and will be looking to defend her S6 400 metres freestyle and SM6 200m individual medley European crowns from last time out in Berlin in 2011.

"I'm very excited to represent Great Britain at my third Europeans and go back to the pool at Eindhoven which we had our World Championships at in 2010," Simmonds said.

"My 50m freestyle personal best still stands from that competition.

"We've got an amazing team going as well so I'm really looking forward to this summer.

Slater is set to compete in five events and will be among the gold medal favourites in the S8 100m butterfly after breaking the world record previously held by American Jessica Long in Glasgow with a time of 1 min 09.67sec.

"It's an amazing feeling to have been selected for my first European Championships," said the 23-year-old, who was part of the 4x100m relay medley team that took gold at last year's World Championships in Montreal.

"Hopefully I can build on what I did at the worlds last year.

"I got five out of my six qualification times so maybe I'll swim all of them in Eindhoven but we'll see what works with the schedule."

Fifteen-year-old Marren claimed four world titles in Montreal and will also be appearing at her first European Championships, while on the other side of the experience scale, multi Paralympic champion Sascha Kindred will be competing at his sixth Championships.

"We have selected a strong team of athletes that have got a good mix of youth and experience," commented head coach Rob Greenwood.

"It's good to see the likes of Sascha Kindred and Matthew Walker going to their sixth and fourth European Championships respectively while we have a number of athletes who are attending their first Europeans.

"This meet is about gaining experience and learning ahead of Rio so we can see where our athletes are and how we can continue to improve.

"Some of our athletes' main rivals are European so it will be a good opportunity to put in good races and see where they are at against some of the best athletes in the world."

The full British squad includes:

Jack Bridge, Josef Craig, James Crisp, Jonathan Fox, Thomas Hamer, Craig Harris, Kahoru Harazawa, James Hollis, Oliver Hynd, Sascha Kindred, Aaron Moores, Andrew Mullen, Scot Quin, Jack Thomas, Matthew Walker, Robert Welbourn, Matthew Wylie, Gemma Almond, Jessica-Jane Applegate, Claire Cashmore, Chloe Davies, Charlotte Henshaw, Eleni Papadopoulos, Nicole Lough, Amy Marren, Stephanie Millward, Susie Rodgers, Hannah Russell, Ellie Simmonds, Steph Slater and Alice Tai.
