Corey Wedlock and Chloe Stewart continued their unbeaten home form on the second day of competition at the World Youth Bowls Championships at the Broadbeach Club in the Gold Coast in Australia.

Wedlock won twice in section one of the men's singles draw.

He first beat Carlos Tigere of Botswana 21-2 before a slightly closer 21-14 success against Martin Sham of Hong Kong.

Malaysia's Budriz Mustakim continues to lead the way in section two after two more comfortable victories.

A 21-4 success over Cook Islands' Taiki Paniani was followed by a 21-8 win over Hong Kong's James Po.

In the corresponding women's event, Chloe Stewart led the way in section three after following a 21-6 triumph over Lesego Motladiile by winning against Malaysia's Linda Zakaria, 21-14.

There was better success for the south-east Asian nation in section two though as Malaysia's Syafiqah Rahman ended the second day of competition as the only unbeaten player.

She first overcame Cook Islands' Colleen Paniani 21-0 before a 21-8 success over Sophie Rabey of Guernsey.

A total of 42 players from 17 countries aged 18 to 25 are competing at the event.

Action is due to continue until Sunday (April 2).
