Claudio Bravo saved all three of Portugal's penalty shootout attempts to send Chile through to the 2017 Confederations Cup final.

After the two teams could not be separated in 90 minutes and extra time, the Manchester City goalkeeper proved impenetrable as he denied Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Nani from the spot at the Kazan Arena.

Arturo Vidal, Charles Aránguiz and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez all converted their opportunities from 12 yards for the South Americans.

Neither side were able to created many clear-cut chances during both normal and extra-time. 

However, with just minutes of extra-time remaining, Chile nearly opened the scoring after hitting the woodwork twice.

First through Vidal who sliced a shot towards the far corner from around 20 yards before his rebound fell to Martin Rodriguez, who could only lift the ball onto the cross bar from inside the box.

Chile appeared to be denied a clear penalty when Francisco Silva was seemingly tripped by Portugal's Jose Fonte.

However, referee Alireza Faghani decided to not award the penalty or consult the Video Assistant Referee. 

Germany will play Mexico at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi tomorrow for a place in the final, which is scheduled for Sunday (July 2).
