France Fighting Roosters claimed a 4-1 away win as they opened their World Series of Boxing (WSB) season against Morocco Atlas Lions in Fez.

The new look French team won all of the first three bouts to wrap up the tie in the quickest possible time and they now top Group B.

Spain's Rio 2016 quarter-finalist Samuel Carmona set the ball rolling at the Salle du 11 Janvier Arena by stopping Yassine Zaher before the fourth round at light flyweight.

At middleweight, Pierre Hubert Dibombe-Ekambi made it 2-0 to the Roosters after knocking down Morocco's Youness Gharroumi in round five before being given the fight on all three scorecards.

In the batamweight bout two WSB debutantes collided with talented Frenchman Samuel Kistohurry coming through against Morocco's Taoufik Kachfi.

Kistohurry was too strong and was given the fight 49-46 by all three judges.

France's Rio 2016 Olympian Hassan Amzile then sent Morocco's Abdelhaq Nadir to the canvas within the first three minutes of their light welterweight clash, en-route to another unanimous victory.

Heavyweight Abdeldjalil Abouhamda restored some pride for the Lions with their sole victory of the night, as he beat the Roosters' Croatian draft pick Alen Babic on all three scorecards.

The WSB season will now resume on February 17 with two Group A clashes.

Defending champions Cuba Domadores will host Argentina Condors at the Coliseo Ciudad Deportiva La Habana, with Colombia Heroicos welcoming Caciques Venezuela to the Coliseo de combate Bernardo Caraballo in Cartagena.
