Australia's Catherine Skinner will be among the Olympic champions looking to add the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Shotgun World Cup Final title to their Rio 2016 gold when the event begins in Rome tomorrow.

The event, the second of the ISSF's season-ending tournaments following the World Cup Final for pistol and rifle events which ended in Bologna on Sunday (October 9), is taking place at the Valle Aniene Shotgun Range in the Italian capital.

Fifty-seven shooters will be taking part in all, representing 26 countries.

Rio 2016 medal winners and 2015 ISSF World Cup Final champions qualified for the event automatically, while others earned their place by gaining World Cup points this season in Nicosia, Rio, San Marino and Baku.

Skinner, the Olympic women's trap champion, will compete against the likes of her team-mate Emma Elizabeth Cox, who won the San Marino World Cup leg.

Italy’s four-time men's trap Olympic medallist Giovanni Pellielo will shoot on his home turf, along with skeet Olympic champions Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti.

The men's double trap and women's skeet titles will be decided on day one tomorrow, before the men's skeet is held on Thursday (October 13).

On Friday (October 14), the women's trap final will be held, before the men's trap concludes the event on Saturday (October 15).

The tournament is beginning in the midst of Rome "suspending" its bid for the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics today, following the withdrawal of support from the city's Mayor Virginia Raggi.
