Germany booked a spot in the final of the Under-22 European Championships with victory over Turkey ©FacebookGermany and Great Britain will go head to head for continental glory after making it to the final of the Under-22 Wheelchair Basketball European Championship in Zaragoza, Spain.

Both teams had qualified top of their respective groups following 100 per cent records in the preliminary stages of the tournament.

That run went untouched in the semi-finals as the nations recorded comfortable victories over Turkey and Italy to book a place in the highly anticipated final.

Defending champions Germany secured their berth in the final with a 55-47 win over 2012 European bronze medallists Turkey.

The Germans never looked in danger in this encounter as they took an early 14-6 lead into the first break.

This advantage was extended yet further in the second period as they added an additional 17 points to Turkey's 13 to lead 31-19 at the halfway point.

The Turks fought back early in the third quarter, pulling the tie to within six, however, it wasn't enough to deter the defiant German team as they saw out the victory in the fourth and final quarter.

Leon Ole Schöneberg led the scoring for the defending champions, netting 24 points, more than double that of Turkey's top scorer Semih Görkem Kıyar on 10.

Britain's win came at the expense of a strong Italian team as the Britons powered to a 58-33 victory.

Led offensively by the high scoring Jack Perry, who notched 14 for the match, and a superb all-around display by Phillip Pratt, the Great British team stormed to an 18-8 lead coming in for the first break and never looked like faltering.

Their lead was increased by two by the halfway mark before another dominant showing in the third put them out of sight of their Italian opponents.

A low scoring final quarter also went the way of the British team as they sealed the victory and a place in tomorrow's all-important final.

Before the final, losing semi-finallists Italy and Turkey will battle for bronze, while France and Israel, and Poland and Spain fight for classification places.
