The camp has 39 athletes in attendance in the elite male, elite female and junior boxer categories.

It is being led by USA Boxing international teaching coach Pedro Roque, with seven personal trainers assisting him in Colorado Springs.

The camp includes nine of the ten elite male boxers who won gold at the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships earlier this month with light flyweight Leroy Davila, bantamweight Eduardo Martinez, lightweight Kenneth Sims Junior, light welterweight Jose Alday, welterweight Jamontay Clark, middleweight Leshawn Rodriguez, light heavyweight Geremias Torres, heavyweight Michael Hilton and super heavyweight Cam Awesome all in attendance.

Following the camp, all the boxers are all due to compete in the 2013 Cheo Aponte Tournament in Puerto Rico.


The elite female champions from the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships are also in attendance with light flyweight Elisha Halstead, flyweight and London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Marlen Esparza, bantamweight Christina Cruz, featherweight Jennifer Hamann, lightweight Queen Underwood, light welterweight Bertha Aracil, welterweight Danyelle Wolf, middleweight Franchon Crews, light heavyweight Tiffanie Hearn and heavyweight Denise Rico all training in Colorado Springs.

The elite women will remain in training camp through May 11 before heading to the Women's Continental Championships in Venezuela.

The junior athletes are getting the opportunity to train side-by-side with their older counterparts at the Olympic Training Centre and following the camp, the 13 junior males will head to the Victory Day Tournament in Ukraine while the five junior female will head to the Pirkka Tournament in Finland for the.
