February 19 - Global superstars Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake will top the bill at the Wireless Festival this summer, which will be held at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the first time, it has been announced.
Timberlake, who is due to perform at the Brit Awards in London tomorrow, will make his only UK festival appearance as he headlines the opening day of the festival on Friday July 12, alongside Snoop Dogg, John Legend and double-Grammy winner Frank Ocean amongst others.
Legendary rapper Jay-Z will make his only European performance of the year at the Olympic Park, headlining the second day of the festival on Saturday July 13, which will also feature acts such as British singer Emeli Sande, who performed at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of London 2012, as well as super-producer Calvin Harris and Rita Ora.
"This is a stellar line up of stars that is set to bring the house down this summer at Queen Elizabeth Park London." said Mayor of London and Chairman of the London Legacy Development Corporation Boris Johnson.
"It proves that our fantastic Olympic Park is now a destination of choice for world-class musical events."
Event promoters Live Nation, who worked with London 2012 Tier One sponsor BT to stage concerts in Hyde Park and Victoria Park during the Olympics, confirmed last month that Wireless and the Hard Rock Calling festival, both previously held at Hyde Park, would be hosted at the Olympic Park after they secured rights to host concerts at the venue.
Live Nation also plan to announce "some major concerts with world-renowned artists" in the near future.
Tickets for the 2013 Wireless Festival are due to go on sale this Thursday (February 21) at 9am.
