QatarHandball2015May 3 - The European Handball Federation (EHF) Champions League have agreed a deal to promote the World Handball Championship- which is due to place in Qatar in January 2015 - to fans in Europe.

The first action from the deal will be LCD perimeter advertising at the Velux EHF Final4 event in Cologne on June 1 and 2, with promotional events also scheduled to take place at selected Champions League matches and Final4 events over the course of the next two seasons.

Peter Vargo, managing director of EHF's marketing arm, EHF Marketing GmbH, said: "We are delighted to be able to welcome our new partners.

"We are looking forward to working with them to ensure a greater exposure of the tournament.

"With plethora of stars from the VELUX EHF Champions League the 2015 World Championship is also bound to be a show window of our premier competition and our new partnership underlines how our brand expands beyond the European borders."

The 2015 World Championships will mark the first time that the event has taken place in the Middle-East when it takes place from January 11 to 27, 2015, in Doha, where 24 teams will compete at venues across one city for the first time.

Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, chairman of the 2015 World Championship, said: "The Qatar Organising Committee's vision is to promoting the handball community.

"Without any doubt staging the championship in one single city enables an unbeatable feeling of togetherness to the handball family."
