altMay 30 - Olympic silver medallist Keri-Anne Payne (pictured) led the way as there were victories in both the women’s and men’s 10 kilometres race at the LEN Open Water Cup in Israel today.

Payne adopted similar techniques that saw her take her Olympic medal in Beijing and was in the leading pack from the start.

She led four British swimmers through the race and finished as the victor after the 10km.

Britain claimed the top four spaces, with Katy Whitfield taking silver, Charlotte Wooliscroft wining bronze and Sophie Casson finishing in fourth place.

The men’s race saw Britain's Richard Charlesworth, a 20-year-old from Hemel Hempstead, swim to victory as he claimed the number one spot ahead of Belgiums' Brian Ryckeman, who finished in seventh place at the Beijing Olympic in the same event, and Israel's Michael Dmitriev.

Daniel Fogg took a good fourth place and Craig Hamilton finished fifth.

The team for the World Championships in Rome in July will be announced in the coming weeks based on the results of this meet.
