IOC approves boxing move to Wembley

altApril 24 - London 2012 organisers have been given the go-ahead by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to move boxing to Wembley - but only if they get the agreement of the sport.

DECEMBER 22 - THE International Amateur Boxing Association's (AIBA) new president Ching-Kuo Wu (pictured)has set up a reform committee and appointed International Olympic Committee executive board member Gerhard Heiberg as its chairman as the sport aims to repair its tarnished reputation.

NOVEMBER 11 - LONDON'S HMS President provided the striking setting for the launch of a unique partnership between the Royal Navy and the Amateur Boxing Association of England which should help the country's best young boxers prepare for the 2012 Olympics.


Women to press for boxing to be included in 2012

 

altNOVEMBER 17 - THE International Boxing Association (AIBA) plans to use the Women's World Championships beginning in India tomorrow to press for inclusion in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and the 2012 Olympics in London.



Gavin reaches World Boxing final
