Andy Lapthorne will get plenty of support from the British crowd in tomorrow's semi-final ©Tennis FoundationThe heavyweights at the wheelchair tennis British Open are preparing to meet, after the top seeds all successfully navigated their way into the semi-finals.

All three competitions at the Nottingham Tennis Centre - the men's, women's and quad singles - have the top four into the last four.

The home crowd was treated to an all-British quarter-final in the quad singles, with world number three Andy Lapthorne beating world number five Jamie Burdekin 6-4, 6-1.

He will now face top seed David Wagner of the United States in a mouth-watering semi-final clash.

"I'm delighted to be in another British Open semi-final and I love playing at home, so I'm really looking forward to taking on the world number one next," said Lapthorne.

Wagner safely made it into the last four with a resounding 6-0, 6-0 win over countryman David Buck.

In the bottom half of the draw, South Africa's defending champion Lucas Sithole secured a 6-2, 6-0 win over British sixth seed Antony Cotterill.

Sithole will meet Australia's world number four Dylan Alcott for a place in the final, after Alcott dispatched America's Greg Hasterok 6-4, 6-4.

The men's singles semi-finals will see Britain's Gordon Reid, the world number three, play world number two Stephane Houdet of France.

Reid, who has reached his third successive British Open men's singles semi-final, beat French eighth seed Nicolas Peifer 6-4, 1-6, 6-1.

Houdet avenged his loss to Belgian Joachim Gerard in last year's British Open final, with a 6-2, 6-1 quarter-final win over the fifth seed.

Japan's world number one Shingo Kunieda, a four-time winner of the British Open, beat Briton Marc McCarroll 6-0, 6-0, while Argentina's world number five Gustavo Fernandez outplayed two-time former champion Maikel Scheffers of The Netherlands for a 6-2, 6-2 win.

In the women's singles, Dutch world number two and 2013 runner-up Aniek van Koot beat fifth seed Jordanne Whiley of Britain 7-5, 6-1.

She will play world number three Sabine Ellerbrock in the last four, after the German saw off Japan's Kanako Domori 6-1, 6-0.

World number one Yui Kamiji of Japan swept past South Africa's world number eight Kgotahtso Montjane 6-1, 6-0, and will play Jiske Griffioen for a place in the final.

Griffioen, the Dutch world number four and former British Open runner-up, beat compatriot Marjolein Buis 6-0, 6-3.

Organised by the Tennis Foundation, the British Open is one of six events to have Super Series status, the highest tier of tournament on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, outside of the Grand Slams.
